What chemical peel actually does

A controlled acid solution that dissolves the bonds holding dead surface cells together. Those cells shed over the following days and the skin underneath is more even in tone, smoother, and reflects light better. It is the most cost-effective treatment on our menu, full stop.

What happens at your appointment

Prep

Skin degreased so the acid penetrates evenly. Uneven prep means uneven peel.

Apply

The acid goes on in layers. You feel warmth and tingling for a few minutes.

Neutralize

Neutralized and cooled. Some peels self-neutralize and stay on.

Protect

Barrier cream and mineral SPF. Sun exposure now is genuinely a bad idea.

Chemical Peel FAQs

Light: little to none, maybe some flaking around the nose. Medium: visible sheets of peeling on days 3 through 5. Strong: more again, and your esthetician will only take you there once your skin has handled a medium. If you have an event, book a light peel or give yourself a full week.

Yes, but you have to be serious about SPF and hats for two weeks after. Fresh skin plus Ponte Vedra sun equals hyperpigmentation, which is the exact opposite of what you paid for.
